When we are not actively working on the yearly Baja SAE and Formula SAE competition car, we have a variety of side projects for members to take part in. The goal of these projects is to widen our members' knowledge of motorsports and allow them to express their interests. Notable projects have included restoring two 10-year-old Legends class race cars, riding and maintaining dirt bikes, stripping down a Mazda Miata, maintaining and rebuilding past Baja competition cars, and refurbishing a Ford Think. Our members are not limited to active projects, however, and are free to start their own. For example, members fabricated a new utility cart out of scrap material when our old cart broke, and some have even strapped small engines to their bicycles to ease their commute to class.
